Brief Biography |
Shukun Yang received two B.S. degrees, one in biochemistry and another in molecular biology, from Florida Institute of Technology in 2016. She joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a graduate student in biochemistry in Fall 2017, where (after rotations) she joined the laboratory of Prof. Scott K. Silverman to study DNAzymes. She obtained her Ph.D. in April 2023. As of March 2025, she is Scientist, Oligonucleotide Chemistry at Johnson & Johnson in San Diego, California. |
Research Interests |
My research efforts in the Silverman lab focused on identifying DNAzymes that site-specifically alkylate peptides and proteins by reductive amination. |
